The K Street Prescription - New York Times

Paul Krugman makes some interesting observations about the administration's Medicare Prescription drug program. The program, perhaps one of the most pernicious government programs ever created, (please excuse the hyperbole), is designed to make everyone money at the expense of tax payers and consumers.

In addition, the program highlights the problems associated with the influence of lobbyists and how it ultimately impacts the public interest. This may turn out to be one of the most salient issue in the mid term elections. Hopefully the Democrats, despite their cluelessness, will figure out how to use this as a major campaign issue.
